Description
Point of departure: La Hiruela, Iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel.
This trail runs along the traditional path connecting with El Cardoso de la Sierra La Hiruela, populated by huge oaks road, common walnut and wild cherry, until you reach the wooden bridge over the river Jarama. If we cross the river, the traditional way would lead us to the Cardoso, but our route turns right before the bridge, to follow the course of the Jarama between riparian vegetation to reach a broad meadow where the ruins of the mill of Juan Bravo, where can we see the great stone embedded in the grass milling. Next to the banks of the river they inhabit white poplars, willows, Birch, poplars and Alders. Later we go back to see other infrastructure associated with the watermills, caz or channel that carries water to the mill, and following this we arrived at La Hiruela flour mill and its recreational area.Front of the mill, crossing a wooden door we incorporate to a path that goes up towards the village, shortly after starting the climb, There is a Variant that leads to a traditional colmenar, made in hollow trunks and slabs of shale or clay as a lid. The road continues to rise under the shade of large trees, that lead to the gardens of fruit trees, before coming back to La Hiruela.
