    Beekeeper for a day, Family beekeeping day

    The traditional crafts are a way of life, transmitted knowledge from generation after generation and mountain culture are linked to the use of the land, the use of natural resources and the sustainable utilization of the territory.

    Beekeeping is part of the livestock sector with distinct characteristics. Parallel to the economic interest of the products of the hive, There is also the benefit that bees contribute to the environment as pollinating insects that contribute to the improvement and maintenance of biodiversity.

    Come and enjoy a beekeeping day, in which you will learn the fundamental work that has to be a beekeeper, throughout the year, you become one of them for a day.

    You'll learn among other things, What is an Apiary, How is life in a hive, will meet its inhabitants (Queen, workers and drones) and the work performed by each one of them (care for and feed the Queen, heat breeding, cleaning of the hive,
    guardians of the entrance, pecorear…) etc.

    You will visit one of our Apiary and will do activities such as turning the humerus, Open a hive and see its different parts, you will have a beekeeper suit to make the visit to the Apiary rewarding, enriching and safe.

    The day will end with a workshop of honey extraction. You will have the opportunity to handle pictures of capped honey and with the right tools make in a practical and direct way the honey extraction process, as well as its packaging. Attendees will be presented with a little pot of honey 250gr.

    Duration: 4 hours approximately.

    It includes: Informative workshop, walk and guided visit to the Apiary, Honey extraction workshop. Costume protector to ensure a safe visit. Jar of honey's 250 GR.

    Dates: 23 February, 16 and 30 March, 13 April, 1 and 25 May, 8 and 22 June, 7 and 21 September, 5 October.

    Do not forget to: Bring boots and long sleeves.

    Other: You can not come if you're allergic to bee sting.
    The maximum group will be of 15 people.
